How to Make Money Online With Information Products

I generally teach people who want to learn how to make money
online to focus on selling information products, right? And
there are a bunch of reasons for that. But the biggest reason
is because the profit margins on them are just insanely,
insanely high. And when you have a business where you can have
insanely high profit margins, it's just really great to use
that to your advantage.
So we're talking about information products, and by
information products we mean how-to products in the form of
audios, videos and text. I learned this from people like Mark
Joyner and Shawn Casey and Alex Mandossian - a bunch of really,
really smart guys who taught me how to run multi-million dollar
businesses...and information products are always the backbone
of these businesses.
Obviously, there are million dollar - multi-million dollar
and billion dollar businesses that are not
information based, but for someone who's just starting out and
trying to learn how to make money online...and trying to get
their business going, it's probably the path of least
resistance in order to make that happen.
Often people have an idea for an information product first,
and they get it in their head that it's time to create that
product before they're making any money online or they even
have a clue what it is their customers will buy. This is
actually the exact opposite of what you should do...and the
reason for that is very simple. You should always start out
marketing other people's products...specifically other people's
information products.
And there are several reasons, right? You don't have to do
any customer service, you don't have to be good at writing
copy, you don't have to have a sales letter, you don't have to
know what the market wants to buy, you don't even have to
have a market in order to start selling other people's
information products online. You don't have to do any of these
things.
When you're selling other people's products, it gives you
the opportunity to test things out.
Rather than spending your time actually creating the
product, you can be testing how your potential prospects or
customers will respond to an existing product.
Your testing can be in the form of e-mails, in the form of
teleseminars, in the form of sales letters, in the form of
special reports. You can do podcasts or videos...whatever form
of communication you choose. And then based on their response,
you know what things you will need to tweak and what stuff to
include in the product that YOU create. Now you are building
something you KNOW your customers want and and you have a high
probability that they will buy it. To me this is the only thing
that makes sense.
So keep this in mind while you are learning how to make
money online and you won't get confused, distracted, or moving
in the wrong direction. When you are new, creating your product
first will move you away from the money instead of towards
it.
