As you begin to look at the possibilities for making money online, you will find that there are many possibilities for creating a money making Internet business. When we take a closer look at all the business models out there we find that they will usually fall into three primary groups. Each of these three primary ways to make money online have been proven over and over again as profitable Internet business models. In this article I will describe each of the three basic online business models. They are online auctions, affiliate marketing and product creation and marketing.

Online auctions:

Many highly successful Internet marketers have gotten their start with online auctions. This is the easiest and probably the fastest way to start making money online. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection in order to get started. You will need to open account with which ever auction service you choose and then you will need an account so that you can receive money online. Many start with ebay since it is the largest online auction site and it is easy to get started. For payment processing, Paypal is the standard option and is a free to open an account with. Then all you need is to go through your house and find stuff that you no longer need or want and list that stuff to sell.

Affiliate marketing:

Affiliate marketing is the process of marketing other peoples products or services for a commission. There are all kinds of affiliate companies and an unlimited number of products and services that an affiliate can market to earn income online. The most popular are Commission Junction, Link Share and Clickbank. As an affiliate you are essentially a traffic broker. In other words, your job is to send qualified traffic to the affiliate offer web site. When a sale occurs, you get a commission. That commission can range anywhere from a dollar for a form to be filled out to hundreds of dollars or more for a high ticket product. Affiliate commissions will run from 3-5% on physical good up to 75% on some digital goods.

Creating and marketing your own products:

Creating your own products and marketing them can be the most profitable business model of all. Especially if you are creating digitally delivered products like software, videos, audio and ebooks. These are all very profitable since you created them yourself so your cost can be minimal. Another advantage of digital products is that you create them once and can continue to sell them over and over again for months and even years later.
